Hub Porteño is a concept hotel located in one of the most emblematic blocks of Recoleta. It counts with 11 spacious and luminous Suites and is distinguished by the customization and intimacy of a house.
An Affinity Club enriches the guests stay: “Club Porteño” recreates the best features of the porteño identity through innovative and original experiences. Therefore, Hub Porteño turns into a Hub of genuine moments which connects the guest with the exciting city life.
The original building structure is a French style house built in 1957 by the Palacios family, a well-known traditional Argentine family. Lalo Palacios bought part of the Duhau property in order to build the residence where he was going to live with his second wife: the famous singer, actress and showgirl Egle Martin. She was known as the “intellectual showgirl” due to her well-known relationships with writers, artists and musicians. Among the famous names that used to visit the building, apart from Carlos Thays and the Duhau family, Astor Piazzolla, Vinicius de Morais, Maysa, Tom Jobim, Carlos Páez Vilaró, Ernesto Spabato, and Sha Reza Palev can be named.
In the 80s the building was acquired by the Orient Express company, that later became La Cabaña Restaurant.
In the year 2010 Experiencia Urbana bought the property to transform it in what is now known as Hub Porteño.
Using noble materials, looking after details, and working with Argentine artists and artisans in order to build a delicate space of high aesthetic impact, the building was renovated following the identity concept of the magnificence of the Buenos Aires belle epoque. The hotel objective is to maintain the building as a Buenos Aires traditional house. That is the reason why there is no sign at the door, nor a visible reception or numbers at room doors. Hub Porteño wants to revive the most genuine materials from Argentina. The principal materials that may be found in this "porteña" house are tough woods as lapacho, different types of leather, native textiles, stones and steel.
In November 2018 Hub Porteño starts forming part of the Casas Latinas Collection, led by Massimo Ianni
In May 2019 it turns into Hub Porteño Hotel & Club. Hub Porteño turns into a Hub of genuine moments which connects the guest with the exciting city life.
